Hello! Welcome to the Korensky Family Blog! I am new at this, so please excuse any typos or grammatical errors you may come upon. We are all so excited to announce the wonderful news of our baby girl referral!!!
It all started on my birthday, May 17th, 4pm . . . the phone rang and it was Tien, our adoption coordinator! She announced the wonderful news of our referral, Han Tsai-Yi! She's an adorable girl, born August 17th, 2006.
She was born 8:17 (not sure a.m. or p.m.) in Huwei Town, Yunlin County, Taiwan!
She was recently given up by a mother who desperately wanted to keep her, but due to financial restrictions could not. I'm sure she was loved to the fullest and well taken care of, we hope to have her in our arms soon!
Travel will most likely be b/t 4-6 months, after the Taiwan Courts have processed the paperwork.

You can imagine how we felt when we saw her big beautiful eyes for the first time! We pray that she is well taken care of while she's in Taiwan and hope to bring her home sooooonnnnnn!!!!!
Many people ask me what my timeline was like, so I've submitted it below:
ADOPTION TIMELINE
September 25, 2006: Filled out application with our Agency, Journeys of the Heart . . . .scheduled Dr. appointments, sent for marriage and birth certificates, notarized, notarized, notarized!!!
November 16, 06: Turned in ppwk to JOH
December 2006: Approved thru DCFS of Illinois
January 3, 2007: First homestudy appointment
January 6, 2007: Second homestudy appointment & mailed I-600A application
January 26, 2007: Brtt and I fingerprinted for I-600A application
January 27-28th, 2007: Attended adoption education classes thru JOH
February 14, 2007: Erin at JOH emailed me saying our homestudy was finished being reviewed and sent to our SW for some updated changes.
March 8, 2007: Homestudy notarized and completed!! Roughly 10 families ahead of us for referrals . . .
April 12, 2007: Received approved 1-171H form in the mail-YAY!
MAY 17th, 2007: REFERRAL DAY!!!!!!
