Little R & R in Greenlake, Wisconsin

We just got back from a week in Wisconsin. My parents and brother joined us. Boy, was it nice, relaxing and quiet. We stayed in a very small town called GreenLake. It is a very big lake, so the water was a bit chilly, but it didn't stop us from jumping in! As we were driving back to Chicago and started seeing the strip malls we thought, we're not in Green Lake anymore! The peacefulness and beauty puts life in perspective. Take time to enjoy the simplicity of nature and enjoy life to its fullest. Below are some pics of our week . . .

peaceful walks . . .

checking out the organic garden w/ Grandpa . . .

our view every morning . . .

Our friends joined us for a night with their son J . . . can you tell K likes him? :)
going boating . . .

a little Jenga
a little shucking corn . . .

a little swimming . . . even Willow!

a little fishing . . . but no luck catching anything

The beautiful sunsets

Oh Nicole, that looks like a little slice of heaven! My folks live in Vermont, and this sure makes me homesick! I love that small town feel where you HAVE to relax and slow down. I bet the kids will take away some incredible memories!
And the photos...I don't know where to begin! They truly show what a wonderful time you had and those sunsets were breathtaking! I really love the three kids in black and white, really great.
Glad you had such a grand summer vacation!

AND we too just returned from Wisconsin, but I think your trip was a bit more relaxing. :) I was white knuckled for most of mine! LOL Truly it sounded like the ideal family getaway....to really unwind all together!

Is Greenlake close to the Dells region? It looks wonderful!
